ERP adoption cost factors identification and classification: a study in SMEs

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems adoptions require substantial resources and investments. The majority of businesses around the globe can be considered to small medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Thus, SMEs are seen typical companies that cornerstone most economies. Compared with large enterprises, an SME-context contains several characteristics, scarcity is among top them. For SMEs, unplanned costs escalation could pose a serious threat their stability survival in market. Frequently, ERP projects have crossed estimated budgets schedules. Researchers practitioners state prevailing number adoption fail due inaccurate or too optimistic budgets/schedules. In addition, many organizations face difficulties identifying potential cost factors occur during lifecycle. While focusing on SMEcontext, this research attempts identify adoptions. method employed study targeted diverse stakeholders experts involved Egypt.
